The Mental Health Counselors of Greater Rochester, a Chapter of the New York State Mental Health Counselors Association, was established in 2003 to support the needs of local counselors, mental health providers and students. Since then, our membership has grown to include over 60 active members.

MHCGR hosts monthly trainings to support the professional development of its members and always looks within its membership for keynote presenters on topics such as Domestic Violence, Disasters and Mental Health Implications, State Licensure, Energy Psychology, Performance Under Pressure, Gerontology, Sexual Addictions, Obesity, and more.

Mission Statement
The Mental Health Counselors of Greater Rochester exists to advance the profession of Mental Health Counseling and clinical excellence through education, networking and peer support. We are committed to enhancing interdisciplinary relationships and wellness.

The Mental Health Counselors of Greater Rochester received the OUTSTANDING CHAPTER AWARD for the second time at the 2008 NYMHCA awards banquet held in Albany, New York.
